Part 1 (Youth? Youth)Ashen mountain was born to Glorious Mountain, War Matron of the People of the Mountain and Xaian A Garlean quartermaster and liaison to the People of the Mountain. At the age of 10 she began her training. In the Clan strength and the ancestors is everything, It was soon discovered that she had inherited more of her father then was thought. From that day forwards the training doubled, Glorious Mountain was determined to Temper Ashen in fire and prepare her for the future. This continued day by day, but she always had a retreat her father, the motherly love she lacked replaced with the love of her father, she was his little mountain. Xaian would teach her old marching tunes and fill Ashen’s mind with images of the Capital.Part 2 (Service in the Garlean Military)
At age 13 Ashen began her service with the Garlean military, propaganda and boot camp served and being of the Mountain Ashen excelled in combat. She had to, she must prove herself to her mother who was never prouder then the day of her first patrol. She returned from that Patrol towards the day of her 16th birthday a new medal on her chest which she presented to the Clan showing she has been tempered. These patrols would continue, quashing rebellions and routing out all those who would stand against the empire. Her mother was never prouder but her father was… tentative. He had been growing distant as Ashen became more like her mother but she was still his little mountain. On the day of her promotion to tessarius and her deployment with the 12th legion, he gave her a small magitek pendent that opened into a painting of them from her youth. She treasured it as she was deployed.
For the next years she continued her normal day to day, crushing rebellions being routed by the enemy so on so forth. Then the plans came in, the empire was to move into Eorzea. She was to be deployed early and attack weapons depots around the boarder hit hard fast and make sure nothing was left. She had never been prouder of herself she sent the letter home to her mother and father. The day came of the first strike came. Her squad was given magitek Mortars filled with a substance meant to stick to and eat through metal detonating munitions and damaging infrastructure, They arrived at the walls of the “depot” at night fall and fired the mortars. All seemed to go well. Then the screams started, and then the stench melting flesh and bone hit her nostrils causing her to vomit, the order came to take the position when the noises stopped. The Gates flew open and she saw what destruction she had cause. Women, children medics lay about flesh melted from there bones, not a munition in sight, her soldier went about killing any survivors. Her commanding officer came up to congratulate her as she vomited upon the floor some of the substance having burned out one of her eyes. As she recovered she devised a way to flee the empire and she did… escaping before the tragedy of DalamudPart 3 (Modern Times)The nightmares would not stop for the first year of her time in Eorza, she mainly kept to the smaller settlements clothed in rags and simple armor she hid from everyone. One day as she was traveling she ran into an adventurer. He brought her to the Quicksand helping her sign up after aiding them in a leve. She had a purpose often taking jobs and refusing the majority of payment as some form of penance. During her travel’s she found George the snake, her pet and best friend. Through out her days she would join various adventuring companies until she was wounded… and was told she needed to retire or her body would fail her. Thus she opened a Bakery and eventually met her Husband Theo. She now wonders Ul’dah and Gridania buying ingredients and living a happy life. Sometimes venturing out to train but most of the time remaining home. She has some… side occupations [See Mystery button] and eventually she plans to return to the empire and see if she can locate her Father.
